Apple Acres celebrated its 40th season in 2025, and Kearney turns out for it — the anniversary post pulled the biggest crowd they’d ever seen in the lot. This is central Nebraska’s hometown orchard: a nice little spot on the edge of town that draws fruit lovers from across the region every season.
Pick your own from varieties that ripen in waves through late summer and fall — Honeycrisp, Jonaprince, Ambrosia, Jonathan, Red Delicious, Fuji, Gala — or grab pre-picked bags inside. The shop stocks the orchard’s own honey, fresh cider (limited runs, so ask what’s available), popcorn, and bread. A corn maze, corn dig, pumpkin patch, and a small petting zoo round out the afternoon. Unlike most orchards, they’re open seven days a week with afternoon hours on Sundays, and they offer guided tours for groups of ten or more.
