The Nelson farm does a festival for every season: a Tulip Festival in spring, a Strawberry Festival in June, a sunflower-maze Flower Festival in August, and a full Fall Festival from September through November 1st — with Barnyard Boo trick-or-treating on October 30th.
Between festivals, there’s a u-pick garden with more than 100 varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers (strawberries in June, sunflowers in September, pumpkins in October), hayrack rides, jumping pillows, a hay pyramid, a quonset full of barn animals from goats to an alpaca, and the “little farmers” educational barns where kids learn what farming actually is. Eat your way through it: the Front Porch Café, the Coffee Barn’s cider donuts, the famous slushies, and ice cream churned by a vintage John Deere tractor. An indoor market sells the farm’s produce and jarred goods year-round.
Hours are Tuesday–Thursday and Sunday 9–5, Friday–Saturday 9–9 with pizza nights. There’s an admission charge (check the pricing page) but parking is free, and they accept cash and all major cards.
