Hotel Deco is the one Omaha hotel that actually looks like Omaha — or at least like the Omaha that built the Redick Tower in 1930, all terra cotta, marble, and machine-age swagger. The rooms lean into the building’s Art Deco bones with an Alice in Wonderland twist: watercolor wallpaper, gold closet doors, cloud-patterned carpet under the bed. It’s the rare “historic hotel” that doesn’t feel like a museum with minibars.
The location does half the work. You’re directly across Harney Street from the Orpheum Theater, the 1926 vaudeville palace, and a short walk from the Old Market’s brick streets. The Monarch restaurant and lounge downstairs is where downtown Omaha actually eats — the kind of place where a pre-show dinner turns into a second cocktail because nobody wants to leave.
It’s part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, so expect real-hotel competence (valet, Nespresso, 600-thread-count sheets) with the building’s quirks intact. One honest warning: the parking garage is tight, a relic of 1930 — oversized vehicles need not apply.
