Hotel Wilber has been the gathering place of Nebraska’s Czech capital since 1895 — a National Register building with a two-story columned portico, 11 individually decorated rooms, and a restaurant serving the Czech food the town is famous for. Downstairs, the Czech Cellar bar keeps the basement lively.
Wilber takes its Czech identity seriously — it’s been designated the Czech Capital of the United States since 1987, and the annual Czech Festival in August draws tens of thousands for parades, polka, and kolaches. Staying at the hotel during festival weekend is the full-immersion option; the rest of the year it’s a quiet, characterful stop between Lincoln and Beatrice.
The hotel is run by the Nebraska Czechs of Wilber as a nonprofit inn — your room directly supports the town’s heritage work.
