Gottberg has been brewing since November 4, 1995 β making it one of the oldest continuously operating brewpubs in Nebraska, older than the craft wave by a decade. It lives inside Dusters Restaurant, in the former Gottberg Auto Company building, and the room leans into the heritage: tractor-seat barstools, auto-shop bones, small-town steakhouse energy.
The house beers pair with a full Dusters menu β burgers, steaks, pasta β and the house-brewed root beer is the sleeper hit for the kidsβ table. This is a brewpub in the original sense: beer made where food is served, for the people who live nearby.
Thirty years in, Gottberg is a Columbus institution. The 2025 state travel guide still lists it as essential Columbus drinking β and itβs right.
