Kinkaider is Sandhills beer through and through. The name comes from the Kinkaid Act of 1904, which opened the region to homesteaders, and the taproom leans into that history — tap handles carved from hedge posts, a room that feels like the Sandhills themselves. Devil’s Gap Jalapeño Ale is the beer that made the name travel, but the lineup has always been about personality over convention.
The Broken Bow original is still the heart of it: a taproom where ranchers, hunters, and road-trippers all end up at the same bar. The Lincoln Haymarket taproom added a second front, pairing the beers with a pizza kitchen for the city crowd. If you only have one stop in the Sandhills beer scene, this is the one the rest of the state knows.
Practical note: the Grand Island Railside taproom listed in some older directories has closed — head to Broken Bow or the Lincoln Haymarket location.
