Lazy Horse is a working farm that happens to make beer and wine — Jim and Julie Stutzman’s place outside Ohiowa, where the tasting room looks out over the land that surrounds it. The visitor map on the wall is pinned by guests from around the world, which tells you this little Fillmore County operation has reach.
The wood-fired pizza is the move — order one, take it to a table, and watch whatever’s happening outside. The Gravel Grind event brings cyclists through, and the whole operation has an agritourism ease that big-city taprooms can’t replicate.
It’s dual-listed as a winery too, because it is one. Come for the beer, stay for the sunset, leave with wine.
