Mac’s Creek has been a winery since 2001, when the McFarland family planted vines along Spring Creek north of Lexington. The brewery came later — 2019 — as an extension of the same do-it-right philosophy, and it’s a natural fit: the same family, the same land, the same unhurried approach, now applied to beer.
The property is lovely in a working-farm way — twelve acres of vines along the creek, a tasting room that draws a crowd on summer weekends, and a concert series that makes it one of the liveliest patios in central Nebraska. The wines lean Nebraska-hybrid; the beers are classic styles done carefully.
It’s right off I-80, which makes it the easiest genuinely good two-for-one stop on the interstate between Omaha and the Panhandle.
