The name comes from 2001: A Space Odyssey — the monolith, the mystery, the leap forward. It’s an unusually cinematic origin for a brewery, and Monolithic wears it lightly: the branding nods to Kubrick without taking itself too seriously.

Co-owner Jason Siebert is a Seward native, and brewing runs in the family — his brothers Ben and John own Junto Winery east of Seward. The Chupacabra Mexican lager is the standout pour, crisp and built for the pond-view patio out back. Northwest Omaha doesn’t have many taprooms; this one feels like a discovery.

A family beer-and-wine dynasty spanning two counties — only in Nebraska.
