SchillingBridge has a genuine claim to fame: the first farm winery and microbrewery combination in the country, operating from a working farm outside Pawnee City. The wines are estate-grown; the beers — like the Zulu American Pale Ale — are brewed steps from the vines. Few places in Nebraska let you do a wine tasting and a beer flight without moving your chair.
The setting is the point. This is rolling southeast Nebraska farm country, and the tasting room looks out over the land that grows what you’re drinking. The Cork and Tap House in Lincoln’s FallBrook neighborhood gives Omaha-Lincoln folks a closer pour, but the farm is the experience.
Come hungry if the kitchen’s open, and give yourself time — this is a destination, not a drive-by.
