Scriptown pours in a 1922 Piggly Wiggly building on Farnam Street, in the heart of the Blackstone district — and the room keeps the history visible, horseshoe bar and all. Co-owner John Fahrer was the 1996 National Homebrewer of the Year, which tells you the beer comes from deep in the hobby’s roots.
The lineup leans session-strength and traditional: English and German styles brewed for a second pint, not a tasting flight. The house ginger-beer Moscow mules are a sleeper hit. Thursday running club, a lively events room (the Kaufmann Room), and a neighborhood feel complete the picture.
Blackstone has a lot of beer options; Scriptown is the one that feels like it belongs to the block.
