Vis Major is woman-owned and Hanscom Park-proud — a neighborhood brewery on Center Street that feels like it grew out of the block rather than being dropped onto it. The name is Latin for “superior force” (the legal term for an act of God), which is a lot of personality for a taproom sign.
The beers have range: Monk’s Chalice Tripel for the Belgian-inclined, Temple Tonic IPL for the hop-curious, and a rotating cast that keeps regulars checking the board. Pizza from the kitchen makes it a full evening, not just a tasting stop.
In a metro full of production breweries chasing distribution, Vis Major is happily a neighborhood joint — and Hanscom Park is better for it.
