Quarry Oaks is the most visually dramatic public golf in eastern Nebraska. Designed by John LaFoy and routed through a former limestone quarry along the bluffs of the Platte River Valley, it climbs and plunges across 7,215 yards of elevation changes, quarry lakes, and native bur oak forest. The wind coming off the river is a real factor — bring your low ball flight. Recent renovations widened fairways, upgraded greens and bunkers, and added a new irrigation system.
The renovated clubhouse leans into Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architecture, with an expanded patio, fire pits, and the 47B Bar & Patio for the post-round debrief. Spaced tee times keep the round feeling private even on busy days.
It sits between Omaha and Lincoln off I-80 near Ashland, which makes it the natural centerpiece of a golf weekend — pair it with a round at Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln or Table Creek in Nebraska City for two completely different tests.
