Pinnacle Bank Arena did something rare: it gave Lincoln a real downtown again. Opened in 2013 as the centerpiece of the $344 million West Haymarket redevelopment, the 15,500-seat arena pulled Husker basketball back into the city core and wrapped it with the Railyard, Canopy Street bars, and the Cube’s big screen. Now it’s the room every major touring act in Nebraska plays — concerts, comedy, family shows, and Husker hoops all winter.

The local notes: arrive early, because wanding at the main entrance can back up; check the clear-bag policy before you go; and don’t fully trust your GPS for the parking garages — the downtown garage situation confuses everyone the first time. The glass-encased concourse has one of the best views of the State Capitol you’ll find, especially at sunset.

It’s also a good barometer of where an act stands: if they booked PBA instead of skipping Nebraska entirely, they matter here. Check the calendar at pinnaclebankarena.com and make a night of it in the Haymarket before or after.
