Star City Pride has become one of Lincoln’s defining summer weekends. The annual celebration of the city’s LGBTQIA2S+ community centers on a few anchor events: Pride in the Park at Woods Park (33rd & J) — free, all ages, with booths, vendors, and performers — a Saturday morning Pride Parade that loops around the Nebraska State Capitol, and a street festival with live entertainment, drag shows, food, and a kids’ zone.
Lincoln held its inaugural Pride parade in 2021, and the weekend has grown steadily since — the 2026 edition drew thousands across a full weekend of events including a Pride Brunch and royalty pageant. Star City Pride, the nonprofit behind it, also runs year-round community programming.
It’s free to attend the park events and watch the parade; the evening street festival has historically charged a modest cover. Check starcityprideevents.org for the year’s schedule — dates land in mid-June — and arrive early for parade viewing around the Capitol grounds.
