Vincenzo’s is the Haymarket’s red-sauce anchor — locally owned, unpretentious, and doing the full old-school Italian playbook: lasagna, chicken parmigiana, veal marsala and piccata, shrimp scampi, plus steaks (the gorgonzola-topped beef tenderloin is the move) and a St. Louis-style thin-crust pizza that surprises people. The homemade bread that lands on the table does half the selling.
The local notes: Sundays mean half-price bottles of wine all day, which makes it the smartest Sunday dinner reservation in the district. Daily happy hour runs 4 to 6. Lunch is Monday through Friday, dinner seven days.
It’s a big room with lots of booths — good for groups, anniversaries, and pre-show dinners — plus a small sidewalk patio for watching the Haymarket go by. Full bar with the traditional house-Chianti presentation if you want the full experience.
