Yia Yia’s is a Lincoln rite of passage. The downtown original at 1423 O Street does thin, crispy-crust pizza — the Around the World is the famous one, made to order with whatever the kitchen’s feeling — in a laid-back room covered in local art, with a patio for the good months and a beer list that’s genuinely absurd: 375 different bottled beers, one of the biggest selections anywhere in Nebraska.
It’s the kind of place alumni talk about with real emotion. The formula hasn’t changed in decades: creative pies, cold beer, cool art, zero pretension. The south location at 2840 S. 70th runs the same playbook for the other side of town.
No reservations, so expect a wait on weekend nights — it’s worth it. Delivery and takeout available, vegan and gluten-free options on the menu, and late hours on weekends. If you’re new, start with the Around the World and a beer you’ve never heard of.
