Coneflower Creamery is what happens when ice cream people get serious about sourcing. The “farm-to-cone” philosophy means the dairy comes from Nebraska farms, the flavors rotate with the seasons, and everything is made in small batches. The Blackstone Butterbrickle — named for the neighborhood — is the signature, and the tart cherry crumble has a devoted following.
The original Blackstone shop is small and often has a line; the Millwork Commons location (1241 Millwork Ave) is bigger and easier. The handmade waffle cones are non-negotiable — get the cone. Vegan options exist and they’re actually good.
It’s the best ice cream in Omaha, and the lines on summer weekends prove the city agrees. Go on a weeknight if you can.
