The Holland opened in 2005 and immediately became the kind of venue other cities envy. The main concert hall seats just over 2,000 and the acoustics are the real deal — the Omaha Symphony sounds enormous in here, and touring acts notice the difference too. The lobby alone, all glass and warm wood, is worth arriving early for.
Programming runs well beyond classical: jazz, Broadway tours, comedy, pop acts, and the Symphony’s movie-in-concert nights, which are consistently some of the best seats in town. The smaller Scott Recital Hall hosts chamber music and intimate shows.
It’s downtown, walkable from the Old Market and most downtown hotels. If you’re visiting and there’s a show on, go — this is one of those venues where even a mediocre act sounds good.
