M’s Pub has been the Old Market’s living room since 1972. When a gas explosion destroyed it in January 2016, the outpouring was immediate — and when it reopened in 2017, rebuilt from the studs, it felt like the whole city exhaled. Some restaurants are businesses; M’s is a landmark.
The menu is classic continental: escargot, French onion soup, and the lahvosh — a cracker-bread appetizer with toppings that’s been the signature for decades. The wine list is deep, the room is warm and clubby, and the service has the ease of a place that’s been doing this forever.
It’s the safe, excellent choice for dinner in the Old Market — the place you take visitors when you want to guarantee a good night. Reservations recommended, especially on weekends.
