The Sydney is the Benson bar that feels like it belongs to everyone. It’s a proper dive — unpretentious, affordable, a little scruffy around the edges — with nightly live music on a small stage, comedy nights, and a back patio that’s perfect in summer. All shows are 21+.
What sets it apart is the ethos: it’s explicitly a welcoming space, queer- and POC-friendly, and the regulars will tell you it’s the friendliest bar in Omaha. The drinks are cheap, the beer selection rotates, and the smash burgers from the back are better than they have any right to be.
