Slattery Vintage Estates is the full wine-country fantasy, Nebraska edition: a 200-acre estate with a Victorian farmhouse, a rustic barn, a pond with a waterfall, and ten grape varieties in the ground. Owner Barbara Slattery and manager/chef Sarah Slattery run it as a family operation with serious hospitality instincts.
The tasting room pours estate wines — the Sangiovese and Norton reds get the most attention — alongside craft beers, and the kitchen does wood-fired pizzas that are worth the drive alone. Live music and events fill the calendar. Then there’s the signature move: glamping bungalows on decks overlooking the vineyard, mid-May through mid-October. Dinner, wine, and sleeping among the vines without leaving Cass County.
Forty-five minutes from both Omaha and Lincoln, it’s the easiest wine-country overnight in eastern Nebraska.
