Planted in 2001 in the Republican River Valley, Superior Estates is estate wine from six grape varieties — Traminette, Vignoles, Cayuga White, St. Vincent, Frontenac, Catawba — grown on the north edge of Superior. The tasting room was designed with cathedral ceilings and hand-pieced art frames; it’s one of the more architecturally considered winery rooms in the state.
The event side is substantial: private events for 200+ guests, in a valley setting that photographs itself. But the core is the wine — estate-grown, made on site, poured where it was grown.
Superior is deep south-central Nebraska, near the Kansas line. It’s a destination tasting room, worth building a day around.
